Hello Dan, good question. There is not a set-in-stone answer here because there are so many different factors that can affect the lifespan of a 5th wheel lube plate. The terrain you are going over, the weight of your trailer, and the frequency with which you use it are all really important and will impact how often you need to change it. A good rule of thumb is to just replace it every season, but they can last much longer than this in some cases.
Take a look at your lube plate and see if there are any signs of wear. It should be pretty obvious if it needs to be replaced. If you see any cracks, large gouges, or uneven wear, it will be time for a new one. The Curt # 16721 lube plate you were looking at is 10" diameter and 3-1/6" thick. The owners manual for your 5th wheel hitch should specify what thickness and diameter plate to use.

Hey Dan, did you get a chance to check your lube plate for any signs of wear like cracks or uneven surfaces? I'm curious to know if the advice to replace it every season worked for you, as it could help others in a similar situation.
