Can I Re-Use The Nylon Bushing When Adjusting The Height Of The Curt CrossWing

Published 07/19/2023

Question:

The height adjustment pin calls to be torqued down to 300lbs. There is a nylon bushing that goes into the hole. Will that bushing compress and interfere with adjusting the height if I need to after initial install? Should I do a light test before torquing all the way down? Will I need to get a replacement bushing if I want to change the height adjustment? Thanks

The nylon bushing is not meant to be re-used. I would encourage you to do a height test before tightening it down all the way. 300 ft lbs is a lot of torque. The Crosswing # C92DR is designed to be dedicated to a single trailer. So the idea is that after initial install, height would not need to be adjusted. If you find yourself in need of a new busing, they are available as part of the head bolt kit # C74NR.
