Will the Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System Work Through Signal Interference?

Updated 05/23/2025 | Published 05/21/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 39’ Tiffin motorhome that currently has a wired rear camera which is aimed to view the towbar and towed vehicle. For safety reasons I like the existing camera aimed that way to be able to see the towbar and towed vehicle. I want to add a second rear camera that acts more like a review camera similar to a rear-view mirror so I can see further behind my motorhome to view the traffic behind me. I am considering the Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision - Rear Mount - 7 Screen Part Number: ASA57YR. My concern is if the wireless camera will work with all the obstructions that are already mounted on my motorhome roof. On the roof of my motorhome I have five solar panels, three air conditioners, two fan covers, a Wi-Fi Rangers system, a TV antenna, and an In-Motion satellite unit. Do you think this system will work or are there too many obstructions on the motorhome roof that will hinder getting a good signal to the display unit? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hey Tom, thanks for all the information. The Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System item # ASA57YR was designed specifically to work through signal interference like you're concerned about. It has a 60 foot range so your 39' Tiffin is well within its capabilities.

The Voyager item # ASA57YR has a 115-Degree wide viewing angle, 14 Infrared LEDs that surround the camera lens to provide nighttime vision up to 30', and includes a 7" full-color LED monitor that displays 1, 2, or 4 cameras simultaneously. This feature will be helpful if you ever want to add more cameras like item # ASA64YR to your set up down the road.

If you have any additional questions, go ahead and throw them into the comment box below and I'll be happy to help you.

Jerred, I also contacted ASA Electronics Support, the makers of the Voyager WiSight. Here is answer: Good Afternoon, To be honest, I believe it would be an intermittent signal at best. That is a lot of stuff for interference. Of course I do not know for sure, but I would advise against it based on the provided information. If you really want to try it, I would at least invest in an antenna extension. That is a WVOSAPANTEXT. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks and have a great day. Thanks, The ASA Electronics Support Team

@Tpm Good to know. I'll make note of that. We do have the Antenna Extension for Voyager Digital Wireless System item # WVOSAPANTEXT, that was recommended. Which of those systems are active or in use while you're driving other than the solar and the In-Motion satellite?
