Question:

Does this camera Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision - Rear Mount - 7 Screen Item # ASA57YR have an available power cable that plugs in to USB? I do not have a cigarette lighter type socket in my new truck.

The Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision # ASA57YR does not have a power cord or adapter to allow it to plug into a USB outlet so you would need to install a 12v outlet, like part # RM-9332, in your vehicle in order to power the monitor.

There needs to be an option for alternate power as all new GMC trucks have NO lighter but multiple outlets. New trucks of all makes offer outlets and that optional cable for that makes more sense.

Similar to the above, my GMC truck doesn’t have a 12v cig outlet. Do you know if the Voyager WVOM43 monitor can be powered by a USB to 12v converter? Seems these converters upscale USB 5v to 12v but not sure on amps. Thanks!

@SteveS The monitor for the WVOM43 pulls 340 milliamps and a USB outlet usually is rated for about 5 amps so you shouldn't overload the outlet using a converter to plug into it and run the monitor.

I have the old system on my 2021 Lance travel trailer but the previous owner keep the monitor rendering my backup camera useless, is the old wiring compatible with the new camera if I order the new 2.0 system. I am always having to replace something it seems like. Please help.

@KevinF the old wiring will work for any wireless camera since it is pretty much a matter of running 12V power to the camera for it to function. You can add the # ASA57YR or switch systems and get one like the Furrion Vision S+ # FR57AD.

@KevinF not a problem. Worst case with a different camera you're swapping out the plug and mounting plate but it can still connect to the same wiring as long as there is nothing wrong with it. Any of the wireless cameras only need power and ground to function since the signal is transmitted wirelessly to the monitor.
