Are Retrax and Pace Edwards Canister Drain Tubes Interchangeable?

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/07/2025

Question:

Can you explain why the Retrax RE64FR wouldn't work on the Pace Edwards Switchblade? It appears as though both fittings that go into the canister are 7/8" in diameter and are held in place by pressure prongs.

Hey John, thanks for reaching out!

The Retrax Replacement Canister Drain Tubes # RE64FR have the same diameter as the Pace Edwards Replacement Canister Drain Tubes # PE55TJ so they are interchangeable, but when I went and checked them out, the Pace Edwards tubes were thicker and had more durable-feeling plastic. You're more than welcome to use the Retrax, but you'll get better quality with the Pace Edwards.

Did your previous ones break?

Hey John, did you decide to go with the Pace Edwards tubes for their durability, or did you try out the Retrax ones? I'm curious about your choice because it could help others make a decision on which to use.
