Troubleshooting Wobbly Lend A Hand Grab Handle

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/07/2025

Question:

Lend a hand grab handle. Have had it for a couple of years. It has become wobbly. It is securly attached to the camper but in the extended mode it has some movement when you put pressure on it. It is securly in the brackets I think. Is there a way to tighten it? Also the plastic caps keep falling out.

Hey Brenda,

A wobbly hand rail is never fun! I would recommend taking a Phillips head screw driver and re tightening the 4 screws you used to install until they are hand tight again. Over time the screws will come somewhat loose so it is always good to re tighten them over time. I wouldn't use a drill to tighten to avoid stripping the screws. Re tightening them will help with the sturdiness.

The plastic caps falling off would possibly be fixed with tightening the screws back down as well. If you take a look and something on those caps seem broken or too loose to not fit anymore we do have just those as a replacement for that Lend A Hand. Part # 1091 is what you would go with if it turns out you need new ones.

Let me know if this works for you or if you need me to keep troubleshooting.

Hey Brenda, did re-tightening the screws help with the wobbliness of your grab handle? I'm curious because it could help others who face similar issues with their handles.
