Running a microwave and fridge on a 30 amp hookup can trip breakers fast. This inverter charger uses PowerAssist to supplement AC input with battery power and switches between two AC sources automatically so loads keep running.
Running a microwave, refrigerator, and charger on a 30 amp hookup quickly overloads incoming power and trips breakers. PowerAssist steps in by reducing battery charging and supplementing AC input with battery power when demand spikes. This keeps high-draw appliances running without forcing you to shut loads off or rely on a generator.
Manually swapping power sources or rewiring creates downtime and risk of interruption. Dual AC inputs accept shore power and a generator or two independent AC sources, with automatic source selection handling the switch. Power stays routed to the system without manual intervention when your input source changes.
Even brief power interruptions can reset electronics or disrupt refrigeration. The main AC output transfers in under 20 milliseconds when grid or generator power drops. Connected loads continue running through the transition without noticeable interruption.
High-demand loads like water heaters or air conditioning can quickly drain a battery bank if left on inverter power. The secondary AC output only activates when AC input is available, keeping those loads off the battery system. This separation prevents unexpected battery depletion during heavy use.
Standard inverter setups cap out quickly when power needs grow. This unit supports parallel operation of up to 6 units and can be configured for split phase and 3-phase systems. It gives you a path to expand output capacity or build more complex power systems without replacing the core equipment.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Victron Energy Quattro 12-5,000. So this is going to be a powerful, industrial-grade inverter charger that's designed to deliver serious performance in 12-volt power systems. Now, again, folks, this unit is going to provide up to 5,000 VA of continuous pure sine wave power, giving you the ability to run heavy loads like air conditioners, large appliances, tools, sensitive electronics, all with super clean, stable AC output. And what sets the Quattro apart is its dual AC input.
So, it's standing up like the way it'd be hanging on the wall. So I'm going to show you a picture on the screen real quick of what this looks like whenever it's apart from the front as far as the panel. And then the base here. And again, it has dual AC out inputs. So you can connect both shore power and a generator at the same time.
And then the system will automatically select the active source, giving you seamless power, switching without any interruption at all. So it's a pretty neat feature. It also includes a high-capacity battery charger, and that's going to deliver strong, adaptive, multi-stage charging that's going to keep your battery bank performing at its best. And with the built-in PowerAssist technology, the Quattro can supplement incoming AC power with like battery power during peak demand and it's going to help prevent overloads and make the most of a limited shore generator capacity. Now, it does come with this wall-hanging unit.
Make sure you're checking the instructions to be sure which direction this is hanging. I believe that these notches here are the top part, and then this would literally hang on it when it's hung on the wall. You do get included hardware with this as well, I just didn't put that on the table today. So again, that's what the back looks like. And again, you're also going to get two AC outputs that it's going to allow you to separate critical loads from those non-essential ones, so important systems stay powered even when energy needs to be managed.
And then zooming in here, once again, you can see those fronts. These LED light indicators would light up depending on what it's doing at the time. And then, of course, you have your on/off switch, etcetera. And if you have a larger system, the Quattro supports parallel, split-phase, and three-phase configurations, making it a scalable solution for advanced setups. So again, folks, if you need maximum power, flexibility, smart energy management, and a 12-volt system, this is one I highly, highly recommend. And if you need help with installation, you can use our installer locator that's on a link below this video or on the product page below the images. And that locator will help pair you with trusted etrailer installers in your area. That's going to wrap up our quick look together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
