Features to know about

Steady Inside and Out: Hitch-Mounted Stabilizer Keeps Movement to a Minimum

Nobody likes the bounce that runs through a trailer when someone walks, or the shake that rolls through when the washer hits spin cycle. This MORryde hitch-mounted stabilizer locks that motion down by pulling upward tension on your hitch. The legs anchor firmly to the ground, and the included ratchet strap tightens everything into place. Once set, it nearly eliminates side-to-side and front-to-back movement. Many owners said the biggest surprise was how solid everything felt inside once it was in place.

Quick Setup Anywhere: Tool-Free Design Saves Time at Camp

Setup doesn’t require a single wrench. Slide the stabilizer into your 2" hitch receiver, drop each leg, choose one of the 4 adjustment holes to match your height, and pin them in. Hook up the ratchet strap to the footpads and pull tension until the rear is steady. When it’s time to move, just release the strap, fold the legs, and stow it away. The system collapses down to 31" long x 12" wide x 5-1/2" tall, so it’s easy to store between stops.

Handles Real Campsite Conditions: Independent Legs for Uneven Ground

Not every spot is perfectly level, and that’s where this setup shines. Each leg adjusts independently from 28" to 40" long and locks in place with pins. The angled eyelets on the footpads keep them flat to the ground even when tension is applied, so the stabilizer stays planted whether you’re on gravel, dirt, or pavement. With 16" of total adjustability, it works across a wide range of heights—just make sure there’s 19"-39-3/4" of clearance from the ground to the center of your hitch pin hole.

Built Tough and Easy to Live With: Compact, Durable, and Proven Effective

This is a heavy-duty stabilizer that weighs 21 lbs and comes with all the parts you need to assemble and use it: hitch tube assembly, inner and outer leg tubes, footpads, latch bracket, ratchet strap, retainer pins, bolts, and nuts. Once installed, it folds neatly against your hitch for storage or travel. Users with everything from compact trailers to large fifth wheels said it made a huge difference—reducing bounce, stopping sway, and making their rigs feel solid underfoot.

This is a great product. However, there was an issue with assembly. The holes in the main hitch bar were not drilled to the proper size for the bolts. But, it was a quick fix with a drill. Easy setup and works great.

I love the product. I had some issues with missing parts but the folks at etrailer were quick to respond and put the missing parts in the mail. Also the drawings are not correct. They show eyelets in the smaller tube assembly that never showed up. etrailer quickly got to the bottom of it by reaching out to MORyde within minutes of my call. I might add that etrailer was not aware of this but they quickly got to the bottom of it. Turns out that MORyde incorporated the holes in the feet which is much smarter but as of this date have not updated the drawings. Really appreciate the help from the folks at etrailer.

Just a quick note to MORyde. I love your product and it works as designed but the tie down strap you gave is to short if the feet are fully extended. It's also cheap!! This is a product that needs some tension put on it. The stabilizer is great but you could include a more robust and longer strap, without a price increase.

by:

We bought this because we have a 5th wheel with a rear kitchen making the rear end of our 5th wheel somewhat heavy so we got this hitch mounted stabilizer from MORryde and it works great. My husband said it was super easy to install and he tested it by jumping around in the kitchen to see if the movement of the rig was better which it absolutely was. Would definitely recommend this item especially if you have a rear kitchen.

The stabilizer does its job well at keeping the backend of our 42’ fifth wheel from bumping around. Our reason for doing this stabilizer was due to the fact of our washing machine located in the front, which caused a crazy oscillation of vibration when it would start its spin cycle.

The one annoying thing about this stabilizer was the setup portion. The bolts for connecting it to the 2” receiver were too big for the holes at the end. They were 3/8” bolts and they clearly weren't going to fit. I had to widen the holes by drilling it out on both sides. The directions for putting this thing together could use some work as well. It was a bit confusing going off them, and some photos were actually wrong. In the end I got it setup correctly by figuring out the mechanism myself, without using the guide. Just mentioning this here in case anyone else finds it puzzling.

by:

Fast delivery. Well packaged. Exactly what we needed to take the movement out of the back of our 40’ 5th wheel

by:

After a year of using the MORyde Hitch Stabilizer, we are still very pleased at how simple it is to use and how much "rear end wiggle" it takes away. We keep it mounted on the hitch folded upward and it doesn't move during travel. And I can attest to its structural strength via one time that I forgot to release the strap and fold it up while raising the front of our 5th wheel for hitching. Oops! The strap snapped, with a memorable bang, but the stabilizer bars were not bent or damaged in any way!

by:

We tried this on our 2023 2606ws Ultra Lite TT, but unfortunately it didn’t seem to help with the bouncing. We have since purchased a 5th wheel, so we will see if it works better.

Hi Carol, this should've worked for your travel trailer as long as you have a 2-inch receiver as well as a 19" - 39-3/4" gap of clearance from the ground to the center of the hitch pin hole. Please let me know if you have any more luck with this working better on your 5th wheel.

by:

The package came with the box broken at the end and parts missing. I honestly believe this is a bad packaging policy of MorRyde and not e-trailers issue. E-trailer has excellent customer service while MorRyde wants to just blame it on the vendor.

@GwendolynY I was able to find the items needed at a hardware store for less than $10 and chose to go that direction. Thanks for asking.

I bought one for myself, my friend saw it and said “I want One.” So that’s two very satisfied customers. This product is well made and extremely solid.

by:

Both holes in the upper arms were undersize for the supplied bolts. I had to drill the holes in the upper arms so the supplied bolts could be used.
The unit doesn't provide the stabilization I was expecting, I plan on using it for a while to see if it will provide the stabilization when located at a location for a longer time frame.

by:

Very easy to put together and install. This stabilizer did the trick, now my long overhang in the rear does not move. Simplicity in most cases is the best.

by:

Purchased stabilzer for my Riverstone Legacy 391FSK which is almost 43' long. My 6 point leveling system works great, however there is a long distance from the back legs to the rear of the trailer. It's a rear bedroom model which includes a washer and dryer that can shake the whole trailer. Since installing the stabilizer, shake and vibration have been eliminated. Very happy with the purchase, highly recommended!

On a recent trip, my 6 point leveling system malfunctioned. I was only able to lower the front landing. The rear stabilizer secured the coach till I could get the leveling system working again. Very happy with this product.

by:

The product was packaged well and all the parts and hardware were accounted for. Assembly was easy. I did a “test run” on my Coachman Cross Trail class C and noticed a significant change i.e. less rocking. Obviously not as good as hydraulic levelers but way better than nothing at all.

by:

Working good so far.

Yay, that's what we like to see!!

by:

Works great, I first had it on the feet on the concrete it seemed to slide just a little, so I took a extra rubber floor mat and cut it a few inches bigger and placed it under the two stabilizers (or feet) that gave it even more stability, this is on my Luxe 42 ft fifth wheel…

Thanks for sharing that insight Bruce! I know that will be valuable information for someone looking into purchasing this.

by:

Works good , but it would be better and stronger if it were a chain and turnbuckle

by:

Best stabilizer I have seen. Anyone with the need for this product, should buy THIS brand. Perfect!!!!!

by:

Does a great job of helping with sway and bounce. Easy to install and deploy.

by:

I have to give this product only 3 stars. 1: The instructions are for an older model. This model is "improved" but the instructions aren't. 2: The holes in the arms did not line up. I used a drill to "align" the holes so the pin can be easily placed. I've used Moryde products before and this one appears to be a little "cheap" and not well engineered. I did get it placed on my RV and hopefully, it will have an impact on the stability of the unit.

by:

Great product. Easy to set up and helping with 5th wheel stability. Full time in the winter and it’s in constant use. Looks like the day we bought it.

by:

Works well for stabilization.

by:

Easy to assemble. works fantastic!

by:

This helps really stabilize the 5th whe el!

by:

Really helps to stabilize the rear of our fifth wheel.

by:

I bought this to settle down the rocking due to a washer dryer combo in my 42 foot Jayco eagle. It made no noticeable difference. I’m sorry to say it did, however, help with some of the common movement in the trailer. For washer dryer combo I recommend the cross brace that goes in the front of the trailer.

  • Can The Top Bracket On The MORryde I-Beam Mounted Stabilizer MR96RV Be Flipped Backwards
Hey, Dee. The MORryde I-Beam Mounted Stabilizer part # MR96RV is designed to hook onto the outer lip of a standard I-beam. Each top bracket grabs the outside edge of the beam, and once both legs are in place, the ratchet strap pulls the legs toward each other. That inward tension is what makes the system stable. The strap keeps the legs from spreading apart and forces the feet firmly against the ground, creating a solid triangular support under the RV. If the brackets were flipped to...

  • Can MORryde Hitch Mount Stabilizer be used with Dual Hitch Adapter
Hey Robert, yes you could use the MORryde Hitch Mounted Stabilizer # MR22AR in a dual hitch setup like the Roadmaster # RM-077-2 and this is a clever solution but you should note that using a hitch extender like this does cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch it's installed in by 50 percent so hopefully that won't be a problem. What bikes do you have?

  • Which MORryde Stabilizer is Better? The Hitch or I-Beam Mounted Stabilizer?
Hey Keith. Both the MORryde Hitch Mounted Stabilizer item # MR22AR and the I-Beam Mounted Stabilizer item # MR96RV are comparable when it comes to the support they provide. If you have the optional 2" hitch, I recommend going with the Hitch Mounted Stabilizer item # MR22AR simply for the ease of installation and break down. It looks like the rear landing gear is in front of the axles on the Brinkley Z 2900s. The hitch mounted option will definitely be more beneficial. Do you have a...

We have a few options available, my preferred being the Lippert Underchassis Double Bin Storage Unit w/ Spare Tire Carrier, # LC125460. This has overall dimensions of 99-1/2" long x 19-1/8" wide x 8-1/4" tall with a built-in winch in the center of the unit to raise and lower your spare tire. • Class C Motorhome/RV Stabilizers That Are Not Permanently Attached To The Frame
Yes, you can use a Leveling Scissor Jack Set # JSC-24 to stabilize your Class C motorhome without having to attach them to your frame. Some of the more popular options are the MORryde Hitch Mounted Trailer Stabilizer # MR22AR and Valterra Folding Manual Stabilizer # 020106 for stabilizing a motorhome. Since you will not be attaching the jacks to your motorhome these are easier to position and raise than attempting to hole a scissor jack style stabilizer. My preference would be to use...

  • Best Place to Install Scissor Jacks on Winnebago Motorhome
When installing scissor jacks like the etrailer Scissor Jacks with Handle # e99012 you're basically looking for strong points on the frame like what you mentioned. There aren't any "set" places to install the jacks so it's more or less about using your best judgement. With that being said, if you aren't utilizing the trailer hitch on your Winnebago you might consider using the MORryde Hitch Mounted Stabilizer # MR22AR instead. • Is There An Extension Available For The MORryde Hitch Mounted Stabilizer?
Hey Randy, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, MORryde doesn't offer an extension for the hitch-mounted stabilizers. The two versions are designed around different receiver-to-ground distances, so if the one you received is too short, there's not really a safe way to extend it and maintain the load rating and stability it was designed for. Assuming the one you ordered is the shorter version, the only solution would be to return it and order the longer one.

With the MORryde Hitch Mounted Stabilizer for 2" Trailer Hitches # MR22AR want to look at the angle you are creating on the arms. You want each arm to form a 45 degree angle to the ground to give you the strongest base. As no two vehicles will have the same height you want each foot to stick out the same height of your hitch. • Does MORryde Hitch Mounted Stabilizer # MR22AR Have Minimum Hitch Tongue Weight Requirement
The MORryde hitch stabilizer part # MR22AR does not have any tongue weight minimum requirements for the hitch it is used in. It doesn't put that much stress on a hitch when used properly so it was not rated at all. Your hitch that has a 300 lb rating would be totally safe.
