What Camera System Should I Get for My 2024 Vita Winnebago RV on a 2022 Sprinter Frame?

Updated 06/10/2025 | Published 05/04/2025

Question:

Dear team, we have a 2024 Vita Winnebago RV on a 2022 Sprinter frame. I like to install a camera lane change assist system like this one Part Number: FCE48TASL-05 This system is clearly geared towards older RVs with the cigarette lighter power source and the needed camera power PWM filter. I have trouble navigating what is available and what we need. Can you please help. The Part Number: FCE48TASL-05 seems to do exactly what I want, but is there a newer version that is more compatible with our RV? Or how do you suggest we proceed. Hope you can help.

Hello Rosalyne,

Furrion actually just released a new camera system recently, but they are still using the cigarette charger (also known as the 12 volt outlet). Sounds like your RV might not have one, so you will want to install the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332.

After you get the 12 volt outlet installed, you will be able to get the Furrion Vision S+ Wireless RV Observation System w/ 4 Cameras - 7" Screen # FR74AD up and running.

The reason you should go with the new upgraded Vision S+ instead of the older Vision S is one of the biggest changes is that it’s much easier to use. The touchscreen is more modern and user-friendly, so it’s quicker to switch views and adjust settings compared to the older version with buttons.

Another major improvement is the number and type of cameras included. The Vision S+ system comes with four cameras: one for the rear, two for the sides, and an extra one above the doorway. That doorway camera is a great bonus for monitoring your entryway or keeping an eye on pets, kids, or gear outside your RV. The older Vision S setups typically include only three cameras and don’t offer a dedicated doorway view.

The picture quality is also a step up. With full 1080p HD resolution, the newer cameras deliver sharper and more detailed images. Night vision has been improved too, making it easier to navigate or monitor the area around your RV in low-light conditions, especially useful in campgrounds or at rest stops.

The Vision S+ also adds smart functionality that makes a difference in daily use. It includes motion detection, which allows the system to automatically turn on when it senses movement nearby. An excellent feature for added security when parked! Plus, it supports video recording via a microSD card, something the older Vision S doesn’t offer. This gives you the option to save footage either for reviewing events or just documenting your travels.

Finally, the wireless performance has been upgraded. The signal range and reliability are stronger in the Vision S+, helping reduce lag or connection issues, especially on longer RVs or when using multiple cameras.

Have any big adventures coming up? If so, where are you headed?

Hi Kate. Thank you for the fast response. One more question. Is this system compatible with the new sprinters? Overal of course but focus concern is the sprinters PWM power supply. I looked through the information but couldn't find anything on this. Thanks in advance. Regards Rosalyne

@Rosalyne I am so glad you brought that up as you will need an additional part. The 12V PWM Filter for RV Backup Camera Systems - Hardwire # VGR64VR This little device is designed specifically to solve that issue. It “cleans up” the power signal and turns those pulses into a steady 12-volt output, which is exactly what Furrion Vison S+ camera system needs to run smoothly. Once the filter is installed between the vehicle’s power source and the camera system, it provides clean, reliable power that prevents flickering and keeps the cameras working like they should. I attached an install video that Kevin put together, he does a great job explaining how it works.

Thank you again. I saw that video. Can you explain to me how installing this at the rear camera provide appropriate current for all the cameras?

@Rosalyne In a lot of RV setups, all the cameras (the rear, sides, and doorway) are powered by the same circuit, usually the marker or running lights. So when that's the case, you can just put one PWM filter on that single power line (often at the rear camera), and it’ll clean up the power for all of them. That’s why people often install the filter at the back, it’s where the main power connection is, and it takes care of everything from that point forward. But here’s the thing: Sprinter vans are SOMETIMES wired differently. If each camera is getting power from its own separate line, then adding a filter at the rear won’t help the others. In that case, you’d either need to install a filter on each power line individually, or rewire the setup so all the cameras get power from a single, filtered 12V source, like a clean line from the battery controlled by a relay.

Reading all of these messages, and am confused why the customer thinks there are no 12 v outlets in this model? We have 3. One at the drivers seat and one at the dinette and bedroom. We plan to buy this camera and want to make sure we do not need the additional wiring. Thanks! J & J

@20242 If you plan on installing it on a Sprinter frame, I am not sure if you saw in the previous comments that you will also need the 12V PWM Filter for RV Backup Camera Systems - Hardwire # VGR64VR due to the PWM wiring. I attached the video Kevin put together explaining how it works. We have an install scheduled on June 10th and will have an install video up on site soon after that date.

@KateF Thank you! As long as we can get it installed before June 30, that will be awesome!
