Can 2025 Toyota Tacoma Carry Northstar 600 SS Without Modifications

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/22/2025

Question:

Hi there! I would like to put a Northstar 600 SS on a brand new 2025 Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma is a work truck so I can’t do any kind of permanent modifications. https://www.etrailer.com/faq-install-camper.aspx After reading your very helpful article, I’m thinking this will be an impossibility. Am I correct? I think that I would need to purchase permanent modification items to secure the Northstar 600 SS and for that matter any truck camper onto the 2025 Toyota Tacoma. Thank you for your time and expertise

Hey Cathy! Frame mounted tie-downs would definitely require modification since you would be using the # TL84QV. These bolt on but you have to cut holes in the truck bed for the anchors.

However, we do have the Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs # HSAB you may be able to use. These are more of a universal application. You need a minimum of 2" between the sidewall and lip of the bed rail. They are not compatible with drop-in bed liners, aftermarket bed rails, double-walled beds, or side-step beds. If you find that these will work for you you will also need the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles # TDHP.

Hey Cathy, did you find that the Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs worked for your Tacoma without needing modifications? I'm curious to know if this solution helped you, as it could guide others in a similar situation.

@RobinH We never tried it. We decided not to get a truck camper.
