Solution to Add 4-Way to 2001 Ram with 7-Way

Question:

my 2001 ram has both 4 pin and 7 blade plugs, but you can not use both of them at the same time due to the covers not opening at the same time. I want to pull my camper 7 blade and my fishing boat 4 pin behind the camper and use both plugs. any product info would be great.

Hey Charles, the easiest solution would be the Curt part # C55384. This plugs inline with your 7-way and gives you a 4-way on a wiring harness independent of the 7-way socket so it wouldn't get affected if your 7-way was open.

On the advice of one of your co-workers I purchased HM 40920. "While it was a plug and play" all the videos showed it being installed on Chevy products, and ask before I ordered that it would fit my 2021 RAM. It will work for now, but if this item is available for a ram that would be nice.

@Charles The # HM40920 is a 7-way designed to fit the twist lock sockets that GM vehicles normally have. Is that the issue you are having is that it can't connect to your bumper?

@JamesonC Yes the plug wiring part works fine but not enough room to twist lock on a 2021 ram. The concept is great. It allows me to plug both my camper and piggy back my fishing boat into the truck directly.

@Charles The part # HM40950 is similar and has a 4 bolt mounting pattern instead of the twist lock so it might be able to attach to what you have better. It also has the 4-way attached to it as well.
