Wiring Harness Option For 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line 4Motion Pulling U-Haul Trailer

Hello, and hope all is well. I own a 2014 VW Tiguan R-Line 4Motion and I need a wiring harness to connect my vehicle to U-Haul trailers, which it did not come with. Im not sure how many pins U-Haul trailers require for the connection. I would appreciate an easy installation solution since Im not very experienced with this kind of work. I am moving to another state and need a reliable product, which is why I am reaching out to you. Could you please send me information on a few products that would be compatible with my vehicle? Hello Robert, thanks for reaching out. The U-haul trailers use a standard 4-flat trailer plug. We do have a 4-flat wiring harness that will work on your 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line 4Motion. We actually have two options, one from Curt and another from Tekonsha:
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # CU26FR
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118675
Both of these are virtually identical as far as installation and quality. I would recommend going with whichever one is priced lower, which appears to be the Tekonsha # 118675.
Installation will be fairly straightforward. You plug in behind the taillights on each side, then run a wire to the battery for power. Take a look at the install videos I linked for you below.
