Hello Ed, thanks for reaching out. I checked with my contact at Curt and I was told the Curt RockerBall # C29FR does not come pre-greased, so you will need to add grease before initial use and install.
A multi purpose lithium grease like the Dexter Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease # DX64TR will work great for that.
