Hello Ed, thanks for reaching out. I checked with my contact at Curt and I was told the Curt RockerBall # C29FR does not come pre-greased, so you will need to add grease before initial use and install.

A multi purpose lithium grease like the Dexter Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease # DX64TR will work great for that.

While the bearings for the Hub #8-259-5UC1-EZ are pre-greased I do recommend filling the hub completely with Grease #DX64TR. If the hub has the grease zerk on the spindle you can easily fill the hub using a Grease Gun #L30416.
