Can I Put a 175/65 R15 Wheel and Tire on Instead of a 205/75 R15 Wheel and Tire for Storage?

Question:

I would like to use 175/65 R15 tire instead of a 205/75 R15 for a trailer. This is to clear a narrow space to park the trailer. Is this possible

It sure is Charles! We have people put smaller tires on their trailers quite often for storage purposes. The issue I have is that the 175/65 R15 is a vehicle tire not a trailer tire so I do not have one to offer you. The closest comparable size I have is the Kenda Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire with 13" Black Mod Wheel item # AM31990, you were looking at.

The ST175/80R13 item # AM31990 is going to be .07" taller than the 175/65 R15. This wheel tire combo has a 5 on 4-1/2 lug pattern. What lug pattern does your trailer currently have?

Hey Charles, what did you find out about the lug pattern on your trailer? Once you know that, it’ll be easier to confirm if the Kenda Karrier tire and wheel combo will work for your storage setup. Let me know what you find—I'm here if you need a hand narrowing it down.
