Can I do a Fuse Tap Instead of Running the Power Wire when Installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring?

Im looking at installing a trailer hitch wiring harness in a 2018 vw tiguan I have watched your YouTube video. But I was curious if there is a way use a fuse tap instead of running the power wire under the car to battery?

It is not recommended to run a fuse tap instead of running the power cord. Using a fuse tap instead of running the power wire directly to the battery for the # 118811 Tow Ready T-1 T-Connector might seem like an easy shortcut, but it can cause some real headaches. Fuse circuits in your vehicle aren’t always built to handle the extra load, which can lead to dim trailer lights, blown fuses, or even electrical damage especially in your 2018 VW Tiguan's CAN-BUS system . Plus, tapping into an existing circuit doesn’t give you the dedicated, stable power the Modu-Lite module needs, and it skips the inline fuse protection that keeps everything safe. The best way? Take the time to run a direct wire from the battery as it ensures reliable trailer lighting, protects your vehicle’s wiring, and avoids unnecessary electrical issues down the road.
