Looking For New Hubs For 5x10 Trailer

Updated 05/07/2025 | Published 03/10/2025

Question:

i have a 5 x 10 trailer with 5-lug hub. The wheel bearing failed on the highway - the spindle has some scoring but it looks old. The only available identification marks are on the hub - HA and 3515 and 9089120. Can these be used to find replacement hub and bearings? thank you. ~s

Hello Shelly, thanks for reaching out. We offer a lot of different hubs so we should have something that will work for you. I was not able to find any references for those part numbers though, so a bit more investigating will be needed to find the right hubs.

Knowing the weight capacity of the axle will help to narrow things down.

The best way to determine what you need will be to pull one of the hubs and remove the bearings. Each bearing will have number stamped on the edge, or you can measure the ID of each bearing with a micrometer. Also measure the ID of your seal, and measure you wheel bolt pattern. It is likely 5 on 4-1/2" but please confirm.

If you can provide the axle capacity and bearing info, I am happy to look into it and make some recommendations.

Leave a reply below and I will get back to you.

@Shelly Not seeing that we have anything that matches that. The 1.719" ID seal is common for 3,500 lb axles, but those generally use the # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) inner bearing and # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) outer bearing, and it sounds like this does not match what you have. What kind of trailer is this? How old is it?

@JesseM have no idea what year it was manufactured - bought from a friend 10 years ago - it looks just like home depot 5×8 rental trailer (but blue)

@Shelly I ask because the measurements you provided really do not match any bearing combination commonly used on trailers. It could be it has an older axle that uses obsolete bearing sizes. Is there a part number you can see on the hub itself? Usually trailer hubs will have a part number cast on the front or back and we might be able to look that up.
