Can 1/0 Gauge Wire be Ran to Redarc Alpha 50A In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # RED78NR

Question:
I have 1/0 cables ran to the rear of my truck with a quick connect for a winch hookup. I will be installing the charger on my dump trailer. Will it hurt to use the same cables I already have ran to power this unit? I didnt know if I lose anything by going up a few wire sizes.

Hey Jody, your 1/0 wire that you have for a winch wiring kit would work just fine with the Redarc Alpha 50 amp part # RED78NR. Having heavier gauge than needed would just mean you'd have max amperage available for the charger at all times.
