Can 2018 Land Rover Discovery Stealth Hitches Tow a 4,200 lb Trailer

Question:

I’m almost ready to buy a stealth hitch for my 2018 Lux Discovery 7 seater. I want to pull a small travel trailer. 4,200 pound and a tongue weight of 400 pounds. Will the stealth hitch have any issue that I should be aware of?

This has a tongue weight of 600 lbs and the towing weight rating matches what your 2018 Land Rover Discovery can tow, so you'll be just fine with the small travel trailer. According to my research your Land Rover Discovery will we able to safely tow more than a 4,200 lb trailer, but I do recommend double checking that number on your end.

Thanks! I also asked if the wiring harness was compatible and will it allow for the updated programming that is needed when towing Ant input on that? Or do I need to buy a wiring harness from Land Rover? Thanks Dave Asker

@DaveA The wiring harness will work just fine, but it does require everything to be hardwired in so if that's something you aren't comfortable with, I recommend having a trusted shop do it for you. If you don't have a trusted shop in your area, feel free to check out the link so you can plug in your zip code and it will show you shops in your area that do business with us and have said they can do those types of installations
