Does the Stealth Hitches Ball Mount for a 2017 Land Rover Discovery Come with a Rise?

Updated 02/27/2025 | Published 02/24/2025

Question:

I am looking to purchase this product for my 2017 land rover discovery so that I can tow my RV trailer. My question, refers to the included ball hitch and was wondering if it is the flat hitch or will it be a raised ball hitch. If it is the flat hitch, then my concern is that it will be too low. I have been seeing photos of both but am not sure. Please advise Thank you

Hey John, thanks for reaching out!

The ball mount that comes with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH97GR for your 2017 Land Rover Discovery has a flat design and basically sticks straight out from under your bumper.

We do have the standalone ball mounts like the part # 391BMU5L that you can also get to achieve more of a rise - you'll just have to swap the hitch ball over.

Do you have a low clearance driveway or something that you're mainly concerned about?

Hey Jon. Thanks for the response and that is exactly my concern, the low clearance areas will cause it to scrape. Since they are relatively the same price would you be able to accommodate a swap between the flat for the raised if I were to purchase? The whole package?

@JohnN We unfortunately don't have a way to do that. I even looked at the towing kit that includes that specific ball mount and the wiring is different and won't work for your vehicle, so you'll be limited to the towing kit made for your vehicle and swapping out to the different ball mount if you believe that rise in height will really help. If I were you, I'd just try the normal kit out first before getting the other ball mount. We have free shipping for orders over $99 so it wouldn't cost you more in shipping to wait.
