Video Transcript for Review of Dexter Brake Actuator - Solenoid Adapter Fitting - T4750200

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the replacement Solenoid Adapter Fitting for the Dexter Model 10 Brake Actuators before 2010. Now this part here replaces the solenoid adapter fitting on your Dexter Model 10 hydraulic brake actuators that we inchesre made before 2010. Basically, what this adapter does, it allows you to install your reverse lockout solenoid to the rear of the Model 10 brake actuator to prevent your trailer brakes from locking when in reverse. To give you the thread sizes on this adapter.

Basically, the male end, which is this end right here, this is a half inch by 20 fine NPT thread, and this attaches to the actuator. And then on the other end, it's a three eighths inch by 24 fine NPT female thread, and that's to accept the solenoid. But that should do it for the review on this replacement Solenoid Adapter Fitting for the Dexter Model 10 Brake Actuators before 2010.

Products were great.
I have one suggestion
to the shipping dept. at trailer:
DON'T put small items in the same craft paper that is used to fill voids in the shipping box. When I opened my box I pulled out the big bunch of craft paper and set it aside to pitch. I pulled out the bigger brake parts and then realized that i was missing two smaller items. At first I thought maybe they were back ordered. I checked the shipping paper and they were to be in this box. After going thru the craft paper I was going to pitch I found them inside. Close Call!!!
Put the small items in a small box or envelope.
Thanks.

This is the RIGHT part for my application. I had driven all over the greater Seattle area trying to find this adapter and nobody had an exact match that would work with my older Dico unit and the new reverse lockout solenoid. However, in my search I learned what kinds of thread patterns that are used and this is important to know when searching on etrailer or talking with etrailer personnel so that you ensure you are getting the right part to match up to your brake actuator. .

  • What Adapter Do I Need For My Titan Model 10 Replacement Master Cylinder
Yes, the Replacement Solenoid Adapter Fitting for Titan Model 10 Brake Actuators, part # T4750200, is for pre-2000 Titan Model 10 brakes. If you have a newer Titan Model 10 brake, you will use the Orifice Connector for Titan Actuators Item # T1209800. I have included product description links below.

  • Can I Convert My Titan Surge Brake Actuator To Have A Reverse Lockout?
I am not aware of any Titan Surge Brake Actuators having an available manual lockout for them. It is possible to convert some of the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T2477600 to an electric lockout. To do this you will need the Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators # T4748800 that will work with Titan Model 6, Model 60, Aero 7500, and newer Model 10 and Model 20 actuators. For 2000 and older Model 10 actuators, a Solenoid Adapter Fitting # T4750200 will be needed. A Solenoid...

  • Replacement Fitting for Titan Model 10 Actuator to Go from Master Cylinder to Lock Out
Since you have a Titan Model 10 actuator and need a new adapter to go from the master cylinder to the lock out solenoid you'd need the part # T4750200 that you referenced.

  • Titan Model 10 Reverse Lock Out Solenoid Fitting Adapter
What you need is the adapter # T4750200 which will adapt your current brake lines to the solenoid part # T4748800 that you have now.

  • Do I Need A Solenoid Valve For A Surge Brake Actuating Coupler?
For your surge brake coupler, you will need the Replacement Solenoid Adapter Fitting for Titan Model 10 Brake Actuators # T4750200 or a complete unit like the Replacement Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators with Reverse Lockouts # T4748800 only if your current brakes do not allow free backing. The solenoid from an old actuator will work if you have one. This connects to the reverse wire function on your trailer connection to tell your surge brake coupler to not apply braking pressure....

  • How to Wire Titan # T4748800 Reverse Lock-Out Solenoid Valve
The Titan Replacement Reverse Lockout Solenoid you mentioned is extremely easy to wire. The solenoid has two wires exiting it. One wire grounds to the trailer tongue, the other would connect to the reverse light circuit on the tow vehicle. Once wired, the solenoid will close when the tow vehicle is shifted into reverse, preventing the trailer brakes from applying when the trailer is backed. Since it sounds like both your vehicle and trailer have a 4-pole connector, you'll need to install...

  • Reverse Lockout Disengaging When Backing Trailer Up Steep Driveway
The brake actuators we offer are designed for the trailer weight and tongue weight capacities, and will work the same regardless of the surface you are on. If the reverse lockout is disengaging and locking up the brakes on your trailer, then you may have a bad solenoid, or a bad actuator. If you have a Titan Model 6, Model 60, Aero 7500, or newer Model 10 or Model 20 actuator, and also Dico Models 10, 20 and 60 actuators, the replacement solenoid is part # T4748800. For 2000 and older...

  • Brake Line Reducer Fitting for Back of Trailer Actuator
Sounds like what you need is the part # T4750200. This has thread fittings of 1/8" NPT female 1/2"-20 NPT male.

  • Switching From Drum Brakes With an Actuator to Disc Brakes
Yes, all you have to do to switch from drum brakes to disc brakes on the actuator is replace the master cylinder. We have the Disc Brake Master Cylinder for Titan Actuators # T4747100 which is the master cylinder that you will need to complete this task. For your solenoid replacement I recommend part # T4748800. If your actuator was made before 2010 then you will need to use the Replacement Solenoid Adapter Fitting # T4750200 so that it will fit on your actuator. I also recommend using...

  • Reverse Solenoid For Titan Model 10 Surgo-Matic
You would need the wired reverse solenoid for your Titan Model 10 Surg-O-Matic, as there is not another option. So the correct part is the Solenoid Valve for Dexter Brake Actuators with Reverse Lockouts # T4748800. If your Model 10 is from the year 2000 or older you'll also need the Solenoid Adapter Fitting # T4750200.

  • Need Adapter to Connect Titan Model 10 Master Cylinder to Reverse Lockout Solenoid
The reverse lockout solenoid you recently purchased, part # T4748800, is intended for use in a number of actuators from Titan and Dico, including newer production of the Titan Model 10 Drum Brake Actuator. In these applications the valve, with its 1/8-27 fine pipe threads, should be a direct fit. Please note that it is necessary to remove the orifice connector (part # T1209800) from the back of the Model 10 actuator before installing the reverse lockout solenoid. If your Model 10 is from...

  • Troubleshooting Titian Actuator with Electric Lockout Not Working When Backing up Driveway
If your electric lockout solenoid on your Titan actuator isn't engaging when you are backing up your driveway then either the wiring is broken so it isn't receiving the signal or the solenoid has gone bad and it needs replacing. Check the wiring and if it looks good then the solenoid itself it likely the culprit and you would need part # T4748800 for Titan Model 6, Model 60, Aero 7500, and newer Model 10 and Model 20 actuators. If you have a 2000 or older Model 10 actuator, the adapter...

  • Replacement Solenoid Valve Compatible With Titan Model 10 Actuator
The Replacement Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators with Reverse Lockouts # T4748800 will work on your Titan model 10 surge brake actuator but you may also need the Replacement Solenoid Adapter Fitting for Titan Model 10 Brake Actuators # T4750200. You will wire this to your reverse light function on your trailer connection. If you need a 4-way to 5-way adapter, I recommend the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036 and/or the Adapter 4-Pole to 5-Pole Trailer Wiring...
