Question:
Question about the SmartPlug Data Port Inlet: SM96MJ Is the data port a standard RJ45 plug? Plus is the RJ45 a shielded or non-shielded connector? Also, what does the connection on the back look like, unable to tell from the pictures provided on your website, is it a back-to-back RJ45 or a set of punch downs on the backside? Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

The SmartPlug RV/Marine Data Port Inlet item # SM96MJ doesn't actually have a data port. It includes one blank insert and one open port. This will allow you to customize the SmartPlug for your own needs. It works with the following inlets:
Single Jack Coaxial Connector item # SM76MJ

Need a little more information. The original poster was asking if the SM38MJ connector was a shielded connector. Meaning, is the connector capable of accepting a shielded RJ45 jack (metal exterior frame on the plug) the carries the grounded shield through this jack to the shielded cable connected on the other side? Could you please answer that question.
