Can SmartPlug Lid Be Closed During Use

Can the lid be closed while a cable is plugged in allowing water protection while in service?

The lid for the SmartPlug # SM96MJ cannot be completely closed when you have a cable connected. You can rest the lid on the cable when it's connected for enough protection to safely use the connection though.
