Is Hardware of EcoHitch for 2014 Subaru Impreza Easily Removable
Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/20/2025 >
Question:
We bought your EcoHitch Invisi hitch Part Number: 306-X7241 for our 2014 Subaru Impreza and loved it. We are selling the car and want to remove it. Can we remove the nuts/bolts without losing them in the frame or having them just spin and not come off? thanks, Jeff

Hey Jeff, since the install of the EcoHitch part # 306-X7241 does require using fishwire bolt leaders to get all of the hardware in place that means the bolts will be somewhat challenging to remove from the frame after you loosen the hardware. You'll probably want to get a flexible magnet designed and run it down the access holes on the frame to try and get the bolts out.
Maybe you can leave the hitch on and adjust the asking price so it would offset getting a new hitch? This specific hitch doesn't have a wide variety of vehicles it fits so it might make most sense to just leave it on. It fits:
2015 - 2016 Subaru Impreza Sedan
2012 - 2014 Subaru Impreza Sedan - excluding WRX and WRX STi

Hey Jeff, how did things go with removing the EcoHitch from your Impreza? Were you able to get the bolts out using a flexible magnet, or did you decide to leave the hitch on the car? Your update could make it easier for others facing the same choice.
