Question:
Is the only thing holding the hub/wheel onto the spindle assembly a nut and cotter key? AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K hub ASR2KHDS04 suspension

Hey Brad, thanks or reaching out!
Yes, ultimately, it's just the castle nut and cotter pin that comes with the Timbren Kit # ASR2KHDS04 that will be keeping the idler hub # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K on the spindle.
It sounds a little wild when you think about it, but those keep the hub pretty snug on the spindle, and there are other things like the bearings and grease seal that help make it a seamless connection for a smooth ride as well. This is also the industry standard for trailer hubs so if it freaks you out a little just know that if it really were dangerous then we would be seeing trailer hubs and wheels flying off all other the highway.

Hey Brad, how did things turn out with the hub and spindle setup on your Timbren suspension? Did the fit with the nut and cotter pin feel secure once everything was in place? Your update could make it easier for others working on the same combo.
