Is it Normal for There to be Play in Gooseneck Coupler Side to Side

Question:

My gooseneck coupler has some side to side play on it when you move it side to side with your hands but when you move it back and forth it doesn’t have any play and the set bolts are tight is that normal?

Hey Weston, gooseneck couplers aren't super refined and since they are also adjustable it's not unheard of for there to be some play due to looser tolerances. Now I don't know what specific coupler you have but as long as the bolts are tight and there's nothing else you can see that's worn out you are probably just fine.
