Hi we recently bought a 2018 f150 super crew with a 6.5 foot box. We have an older 5th wheel whig came with a Valley 7054 hitch. Can it be installed in an aluminum box?

Yes, you can use the Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch on your 2018 Ford F-150. There won't be any issues with the aluminum bed. In order to do so you will need an install kit for which I recommend using the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit part # RP50087-58. This kit is a custom fit so no drilling is required. It will then provide you with the above bed base rails that you will need to install the Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch.

Please note that because you have the 6-1/2' long bed you will need to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch order to have sufficient turning clearance for sharp, 90 degree turns. If the Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch that you have is not a slider then you cannot really use it and I recommend replacing it with the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider part # RP30051.
