I am looking for a disc brake kit for a 2022 Grand Design Solitude 3740BH...Curt axle 2021127067. It also says CURT70-SBSA-90.5-74.5N0SP-0S-L-C86537-ABS-7279-BRONZE-30PT

Hey Michael,

Thanks for the serial number of your axle, it made it possible to find the bearings and seal numbers so I could verify what would fit. If you want the best you'll definitely want to go with a DeeMaxx kit like the # DE66AR. This kit includes everything you need from as well as all the smaller hardware to mount your brake lines, which typically isn't included. The only other thing you should need aside from tools to get the job done should be just some high temp grease # L24FR for your spindle/bearings and brake fluid to fill up the lines.

It's typical on fifth wheels to mount the actuator in the front cargo bay by the landing gears. You'll want to make sure you have a clear space for it and start tracing your wiring to the junction box, which typically gets mounted, or in some cases just thrown into the opening in the nose for the pin box. You'll need to tie into the breakaway battery/switch so the junction box is the easiest way to get to that as well as the signal from your brake controller.

Hey Michael, how did things go with the DeeMaxx disc brake kit on your Solitude? Were you able to get everything mounted and wired the way you wanted? Your update could make it easier for the next person working on a similar fifth wheel setup.

Kevin C, thank you for the reply. I am looking at this product again since I found my drum brakes are worn out. To compare them, what brake set up and drums would be needed for this axle? It is a pain to find the right parts.

@Mike Hey there Mike! If you wanted to go with the drum brake set-up, you would need (4) of the # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K, and (2) sets of the # AKEBRK-7-SA. I know the cost is a lot to make the switch over to disc, but I promise it is worth it in the long run. Any fun adventures this year in your 2022 Grand Design Solitude 3740BH, where did you go, what did you see?

@KateF Which of the hubs is the ABS style? I know it has the ABS drums, but all I could find I think that fits is red ones, not the black ones.

@Mike Can you respond directly to the email with a picture of what hubs you currently have on there? Please make sure to get the number stamped on them. The ABS brake systems are brand specific, we need to make sure we are getting you the right ones.
