If your old drum brakes are corroded or losing stopping power, this DeeMaxx stainless steel kit is a big step up. The 13" slip-on rotors fit over your existing idler hubs and use your wheel bolts for a quick, clean install. Each assembly includes stainless rotors, calipers, and brackets built to handle 7,000-lb axles and 16" or larger wheels. Ceramic pads and stainless pistons deliver smooth, strong braking that stays consistent mile after mile.

Saltwater launches and snowy highways can destroy ordinary brakes fast. Every major component in this kit—from the rotors to the calipers and brackets—is stainless steel, so it’s rustproof and ready for coastal towing or road-salt exposure. Drainage holes in the rotor hat let water escape easily to further cut down on internal corrosion. These brakes are made to last in the harshest conditions without seizing or flaking apart.

Heavy towing and long grades can cause brake fade when heat builds up. DeeMaxx adds venting and drainage holes in each rotor to move air through the core and cool things down fast. The design disperses heat more effectively than standard setups, keeping braking smooth and predictable even on demanding routes. It’s the same performance that helped these brakes pass the SAE J2681 automotive brake test for friction performance.
This kit installs easily with common tools—just slip the rotors over your idler hubs, bolt on the brackets, and connect your hydraulic system rated at 1,500 psi or higher. Each caliper has laser-etched instructions for bleeding the brakes, so maintenance is straightforward whenever it’s needed. The set includes everything needed to upgrade one axle: two slip-on rotors, calipers, and brackets.

With high-quality automotive-grade materials and thoughtful engineering like side-support caliper brackets that reduce bolt wear, these brakes are built for long service life. Rated for 7,000 lbs per axle with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and 9/16" wheel bolts, they deliver dependable braking season after season—and come backed by a 7-year warranty for extra peace of mind.

I'm here with Brian from Jonesing To Go and he has brought his well, tell us about your setup a little bit. This is a 35-foot Montana by Keystone and right now, the way it sits loaded we're about 14,000 pounds. Today, we're gonna upgrade the brakes to hydraulic disc brakes. And this is something that I've been thinking about for quite some time. And when my wife decided that she's finally ready to start pulling the rig, I knew it's time. I've waited too long.
And so right now, I gotta be honest with you I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. I can't wait to pull this thing and hit the brakes for the first time once this is done. I've heard nothing but fantastic things about what a difference it makes. And quite honestly, you know one close call on the road is one close call too many. And unfortunately, we have those on a regular basis.
So, you know, you always hear that term white knuckle. I don't know if it's white knuckle but when you're on the brakes on the truck and your hand is on the brakes on the brake controller all the way and you're just praying you get stopped in time you know, I've had enough of that. Now we're gonna take it in the shop and get our brakes installed. We're gonna meet up with Brian later and see what he thinks after. So we got the brakes installed, we're out on the road and this is really the maiden voyage with the disc brakes on.
So Brian tows his fifth wheel quite often, so I'm kind of excited to see his reaction as he stops. So once we get to a nice little straightaway we'll jab the brakes and see what it does. So we're on just kind of a industrial straightaway here. So Brian, go ahead, hit the brakes. Wow, what a difference.
I don't think I've ever felt this thing stop like this ever. Since the day it was new. Brad And gain's set at At five. Brad What do you normally have it at Nine. Brad Well, that's good. At nine, it's never, ever braked like this, ever. In fact, there's been times I've wondered if I'm getting stopped at nine. I'm excited about not only being able to stop, but the maintenance is gonna be so much easier. Oh my God, did you feel that (Brad laughs) I hardly pressed the brake. I think he's pretty happy. Yeah. I think he's gonna enjoy these. Now speaking of braking we've actually done a little bit of tests in our parking lot and it's not exactly out on the highway testing but what we've done is we've gotten up to about 15 miles per hour in our parking lot and just used the trailer brakes at full gain and allowed the drum brakes to do what they can to stop it. Now we've gone ahead and done the exact same braking test. Now just with our DeeMaxx brakes installed. Now for a quick visual reference you can see our cone over here to my left and that's where the front of the truck was before with his drum brakes. You can kind of see where his truck is now. So obviously, it's made a huge difference. We went from 117 foot down to 53. So more than half of what we had before. Imagine that being a car on the highway and you have to make a quick movement. Instead of being there, you can be here. So we've just gone ahead and done our post disc brake installation test. What do you think about that (stutters) I'm speechless. I knew it was gonna be good, I knew it was gonna be better. I hoped it would be that, and it definitely is. I'm confident in everything we do now. I'm confident when my wife is behind the wheel towing this now. Before, I wasn't so sure 'cause she's just learning. I don't know why I didn't do it before. Absolutely, and that's really for a towing experience confidence is everything. Being able to be comfortable behind the wheel and not white knuckle makes your trip enjoyable. And the best when it comes to brakes that's definitely something to it's something you wanna put your hat on saying that you have the best brakes because without stopping, well it makes for a not so great experience. It makes a bad day if you can't stop in time. One close call is one close call too many but they're very frequent out there because even though we drive defensively and leave space between cars especially in a metropolitan area there's always that one person that cuts in hits their brakes and, you know you don't know what they're thinking or what they're doing. We can drive as defensively as we want, it's the other guy. And reaction time is everything but the fact that I have the ability to stop now means the world to me. That's awesome. Thank you so much, Brian. Thank you.

Excellent product, price, and service!
Exactly what I was looking for. Very well designed and constructed.
Wow, the calipers, rotors and brackets are awesome.
Great price!
I'm sure the quality of these is good but I'm annoyed that there is no mounting hardware included. The enclosed instructions make multiple references to the "provided hardware" but there is none. So I spent $[XX] each on two brake kits and now I have to drive to town for hardware
I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the break discs and calipers, I’ve spent my life working with equipment of all shapes and size, I can spot quality a mile away.
Call them about an order I had placed. They were super helpful. You can just tell. It’s a good company to deal with. Real people that care not just a computer.
Got the order fast
Nice stuff
Will install them in two weeks
Thank you etrailer
Really nice people working there
Top Quality! Easy install and they work great! 7yr warranty, I am pleased....
Nice brakes. All stainless even the backing plates for pads. Should be trouble free for a long time.
So far the brake system works very well, the trailer gets immersed in salt water so the system being mostly stainless helps greatly, of course the system still should be washed down with fresh water after salt water contact.
