Dutton-Lainson A-Frame Trailer Jack DL22772 - How Far Does It Extend Below Tongue When Retracted?
Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/05/2024 >
Question:
For the DL22772 Jack, I need to know how much it extends below the tounge when fully retracted. I have a pretty low ball hook up, and I cant have it sticking down below the A frame too much or it will drag especially when going up slops like a gas station ramp from the road. So... Fully retracted, how much below the A frame is it extending? Thanks!

Hello Marc, thanks for reaching out. For the Dutton-Lainson A-Frame Trailer Jack # DL22772 it is going to be 10-1/4" from the mounting plate to the bottom of the jack when fully retracted. I edited a picture to help illustrate. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hey Marc, did that 10-1/4 inch clearance on the Dutton-Lainson jack give you enough room for your low ball hookup? Your feedback could help others trying to avoid dragging issues on ramps.
