No need for complicated hardware or extra brackets. The black molded bracket on this light secures your standard-size plate and mounts flat against the trailer surface. It measures 8-3/8" long x 2-1/2" tall x 2-1/2" deep, with a 3" center-to-center distance between mounting holes. A small wiring hole is all you need to run the included two-wire pigtail—black for power and white for ground.
Road grime and vibration can wear out flimsy housings fast, but this one is made from tough black molded plastic that stays rigid and resists cracking. It’s SAE compliant and designed for trailer use, so it handles the bumps and jolts of towing without issues. The clear lens stays secure and keeps light output consistent over time.
The included two-wire pigtail gives you a straightforward hookup—no guessing which wire goes where. Each lead measures 7" long, so you’ve got enough length to reach your existing wiring connection. great light, just check the polarity before wiring it. Comes with license plate hardware but no mounting hardware.
Ordering was easy. Bracket arrived quickly and in perfect shape. Bracket seems to be a bit higher quality than others. Light is bright enough to be noticed in daylight. Just mount, ground, and connect the wire. Nuts and bolts weren't included, but I suspect that every mounting is different and it is just as well not to include them. I used two self threading bolts to mount the bracket to my trailer's aluminum flange. I used a smaller sheet metal screw to securet the ground wire to the trailer and a heat shrink connector to connect the wiring. If you've had your trailer very long, you probably have everything you need to mount this bracket. Can't believe I'm saying this, but the bracket looks good installed. All in all a good purchase. I'm happy.
This bracket and light were the perfect replacement for my RPod 180 camper.
Works as expected. Used to move license plate to my spare tire carrier for my Winnebago View. Now I have a spare tire using my hitch receiver and it’s not blocking view of my license.
