Question:

I have a 2011 Honda CRV I want to flat tow. I was looking at the Blue OX BX4330 and would like to get pointed in the right direction for appropriate base plate please. Could I get some help? Thank you, Paul

Hello Paul, thanks for reaching out. The Blue Ox Acclaim Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX4330 can absolutely be used on your 2011 Honda CR-V. The CR-V has a curb weight of about 3,500 lbs so a 5K rated tow bar will be more than sufficient. Here are the rest of the parts I recommend for your flat tow setup:

- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX2246

- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass - 13" - 20-Amp Mini-Fuse # RM76511

- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

Keep in mind that for the 2011 CR-V, fuses must be pulled for towing, so the fuse bypass is a requirement. Refer to your owners manual for more info on what fuses to pull.

You will find links to the instructions, as well as links to a few install videos for the parts I mentioned below. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Hey Paul, how did your flat tow setup go with the Blue Ox Acclaim and base plate on your CR-V? Did the fuse bypass work smoothly for you when towing? Your update could make it easier for the next person setting up a similar system.
