Question:

Pulling with 2011 Chevy half ton Suburban 30 ft TT dry weight 6100# hitch weight 915# will Reese 66084 be the right one for my application? I have reviewed the installed instructions and feel confident with doing the installation. Just wondering what other parts would be needed to complete the installation setup? Thanks for your help with this,

To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.

If your total tongue weight does not exceed the 915 pounds of the trailer tongue weight or the 1200 pound max capacity of the system, then Reese Strait-Line system # RP66084 would be an excellent choice. The dual-cam sway control works best to prevent sway in my opinion.

I am also confident that you can perform this installation at home. There is nothing too difficult, just a lot of fine-tuning to get the best ride. I have linked the instructions but also a video showing an installation of a Strait-Line system for you.

The system includes everything you will need except a ball. For a 2 inch ball use # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 19286. The included shank has a max rise of 6-1/2 inches and max drop of 1-1/4 inches. Other shanks can be purchased separately if more rise or drop is needed to tow the trailer level.
