Question:

I have ordered an Alliance Valor 36V11 toy hauler with independent suspension and disc brakes. The trailer will be equipped with 17.5inch Cooper Tires. My tow vehicle is a 2024 Ford F350. Ford offers an OEM TPMS system that can be installed on the trailer. The instructions state that the TPMS sensors are only compatible with .452inch diameter valve stems and tires that have a cold inflation pressure of 125 psi or less. Is the TPMS kit compatible with the Cooper 17.5inch tires? I appreciate any help or guidance you can give.

Hello Stephen, thanks for reaching out. I took a walk out to our warehouse to take a look at the valve stem on the Cooper Work Series 215/75R17.5 Radial Tire w/ 17-1/2" Wheel # LH28FR. I found that this wheel does use the larger 0.625 valve stems so sadly this would not work with the Ford OEM TPMS sensors. The max PSI is 123 so you would be good there, just not with the larger valve stems. You will need to use a separate tire monitoring system for the trailer tires. For that I recommend the Tireminder # TPMS-APP-4 which comes with four sensors and will work with the 0.625 valve stems. This allows you to monitor tire pressure with your smartphone.

Hey Stephen, how did things go with the TireMinder system on your Valor toy hauler? Your update could make it easier for others trying to monitor tire pressure with those larger valve stems.
