Constant exposure to water and road grime can quickly eat away at a trailer hub. This DeeMaxx idler hub is built from galvanized steel for real corrosion resistance, making it ideal for marine use or any environment where rust is a concern. The marine-grade finish holds up against salt and moisture so you can tow with confidence trip after trip.
This hub is designed for serious work, fitting 8,000-lb trailer axles with #42 spindles. With a 4,000-lb weight capacity per hub, it’s made to handle steady loads without flexing or fatigue. The strong 9/16" wheel studs give a solid connection, and the long 3-3/16" length makes it easy to mount thicker custom wheels or over-the-hub rotors when you need braking power.
Whether you’re keeping things simple with an idler axle or stepping up to disc brakes later, this hub gives you options. It can run on its own as an idler hub or pair with a 13.1" rotor for disc brake applications. That flexibility makes it a great choice for upgrading or refurbishing older trailers without having to change the entire axle setup.
Setting bearing races by hand can be tedious and easy to misalign. This hub skips that hassle—both the inner (25520) and outer (02420) races come pre-installed from the factory. Bearings, grease seal, and cap are sold separately, so you can choose the exact components you prefer while still saving time during assembly.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"
