Are All RV Screen Door Latch Replacements the Same

Question:

I need to replace the latch set on my RV screen door. I don’t know the brand of latch. Are they pretty standard? Mine looks just like the one you carry but do the sizes vary? Thanks for any pointers you can give. MB

Hey Marie, so the screen door latches are mostly universal but there are some variances so it would still be good to measure to be sure if a latch like the part # LC201471 would work. As long as the mounting holes are 3 inches apart this would work.

So the latch is ok. But the gizmo it hooks onto on door jam is broken. it's 11/2 ' top to bottom. Also, the gizmo that hooks it onto the door itself is gone. And it is 2 1/2 " side to side. Don't know what these are called. Marie

@Marie It sounds like you are looking for the Lippert RV Outside Striker part # LC198252 which is what the latch connects to.

I'm thinking since I don't know the brand, I should buy the whole set. This is on a Cavco RV 'Cabin'. But since it's 20 yrs old, they probably don't use the same part manufacturer.
