My outlets work but my batteries don’t charge. Do I need a new power center? Jayco midsized travel trailer. dual axle

Hello Brandon, that’s a classic failing-converter symptom inside the power center, assuming the batteries and battery cables themselves have been checked and are in good working order.

If your AC outlets are working but the battery voltage isn’t rising when you’re plugged into shore power, the converter section inside the panel is likely failing. Since these are integrated power centers, replacing the entire unit is usually the most reliable long-term fix rather than trying to repair internal components.

Your replacement choice will mainly depend on three things: the cabinet opening size, your battery setup, and how many circuits you need.

For rough opening size (Width x Depth x Height):
-WF46FR (40A – horizontal): 10-3/8" Width x 4-1/8" Depth x 7" Height
-WF86FR (55A – horizontal): 12-3/16" wide x 11" tall.

If your opening is closer to 10-3/8" wide, the # WF46FR is likely the better fit. If it’s around 12-3/16" wide and you want stronger charging capacity, the # WF86FR may make more sense.

That being said, you can usually make different sizes fit by trimming or filling in the cut out opening in your camper. Most people aren't apt to modifications like that, but figured I'd mention it. I usually recommend finding one that fits as close as possible to the original cutout.

How old is your current panel? Do you know the size of the cutout hole?
