When determining what screen door latch you would need either the right hand or left hand side you would need to look at the closed door from the inside of your RV. The latch location is the side of the door that it is mounted on. This would mean that a right hand latch like the # LC201471 will be mounted on the right hand side of the screen door as you view it from the inside of the RV.

If you need the left hand side you would want the part # LC201472.

I've been a Carpenter over 40 years and a right swing door is one where your back is against the hinges, if the door swings to the right, it's a right hand door. Why is an rv screen door the opposite. My slider broke on the door and all of them said right hand, my door is a left hand, but I guess that means nothing with RV's

@BillJ Great question but best answer I can give is that the RV world is way less standardized and thought out as other areas. It's a weird wasteland somewhere between the automotive and house world where nothing is really standardized.
