Hey Artie,

When it comes to leaf springs it's best to match the capacity of both springs to the capacity of the axle. You can go a bit higher in spring capacity to prevent sagging but there's a fine line where too much capacity can cause a bouncy, uncomfortable ride quality. It is also important to match the length from eye to eye when replacing springs to prevent any bind ups with your suspension.

I'm seeing people say that the Dexter P-11 is rated for either 5,200lbs or 7,000lbs, is your axle tag still legible and can you see the axle capacity? When you measured for the leaf springs did you lift the trailer by the frame and let the axle hang to take the weight of the springs for an accurate measurement?

Hey Artie, were you able to confirm the axle capacity and get accurate measurements for your leaf springs? Knowing how that worked out could really help others thinking about upgrading their trailer springs.
