Question:

2019 Ram 2500 8 foot bed with OEM running boards and factory hitch no Rambox. Purchasing a 2014 palomino hs800 with fast gun turnbuckles included. What brackets do I need to install on my truck so I can pick up this truck camper?

Hey Ernie,

I know you were asking for Evangeline but she's out doing a video install right now and asked me to help out. Which I can do as we can get your 2019 Ram 2500 set up with camper tie-downs for your Palomino camper, and there is an option that will potentially allow you to use your FastGun turnbuckles. Since your truck has an 8 foot bed, factory hitch, and stationary OEM running boards, here is the possible fit from TorkLift:

- TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front # TL46SV

- TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Rear # TL45RR

I say "possible" because the fit depends on how long your running boards are. If they are wheel-to-wheel, and go PAST the cab and under the bed, these will work! But if your running boards stop BEFORE the truck bed, sadly there isn't a TorkLift option, which I verified with them directly.

So hopefully you have that running board length on your Ram, but if not you can still add tie-downs, you'll just need the slide-in type, which are the Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs # HSAB. These also require the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles # TDHP.

These are simpler to install and will definitely work for your truck, but not with your current FastGun turnbuckles. I did want to give you that option though, just to make sure we were able to help you get your camper on your truck.

Hey Ernie, how did things go getting the camper tie-downs set up on your Ram for the Palomino? I'm curious if the TorkLift mounts ended up fitting with your running boards or if you went with the Brophy option instead. Your update could make it easier for the next person with a similar setup.
