Where Do Metal Plates With Wire Attached Go During Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar Installation

Updated 10/11/2024 | Published 10/10/2024

Question:

I’m not understanding the part that has a wire and a metal plate with two holes threaded in it ? Where does it go ? Something about near the front of the springs ? I’ll send a picture of it !

Hi Michael; those are the threaded plates with the wire handle referenced in the # HE96XR instructions starting with step 2. They go into the slots on the inside of the frame rails above the rear axle. The wire is there to help guide the plate forward until it lines up with the slot in the bottom of the frame near the front leaf spring retainer seen in the photo below. Unfortunately, I don't have any additional pictures or a video outside of the instructions to help show you were the holes are so you will have to find them yourself.

So to understand what you’re saying is , this flat piece of metal with two threads with a wire goes on top of the frame , and the c shaped bracket goes on the bottom of the frame ?

@MichaelS in that picture the metal plate is sitting up inside of the frame. It basically gives that bolt something to thread into so you can secure that bracket underneath.
