Troubleshooting Wiring Harness Left Turn On Trailer Activates With Right Side Blinker On Vehicle
Updated 10/07/2024 | Published 10/05/2024 >
Question:
Hello again, so a new little problem. I got all of the wiring squared away much easier doing it within the cabin then it was under the car however I have 2 issues. 1. Whichever turn signal I hit the trailer does the opposite. So if I wanna turn right, my taillights are blinking right but the trailer will be blinking the left signal. 2. Lights on the trailer dont turn on when I turn the cars lights on. Now I could probably just swap over the harness from one side to the other but then that still leaves me with no lights on the trailer if Im out at night. Would you happen to have any suggestions?

Hello Roberto. It sounds like you do have the ends of the Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness # 118791 plugged in to the wrong side of your vehicle. Please go in and make sure the end with the yellow wire is plugged in to the drivers side, and the end with the green wire is going to the passenger side. Double check your ground and make sure it is connected to good clean metal free of any paint, rust or corrosion. Double check the black wire and make sure it is connected directly to the battery. Once this is all done correctly, everything should be working normally. If you are still having issues with your lights after all of this just let me know and I am happy to help you troubleshoot further.

Thank You for the quick reply, I'll double check the ground and battery connection and follow up. But just something to note that the kit i received had the yellow and green wires reversed compared to the instructions linked on the product page. My kit had the short green wire going to the drivers side taillight and the really long yellow wire to the passenger side. I didn't pay much attention to the color on the instructions though, since it seemed retty obvious which wire went where based on where the converter box was to be placed. But wasnt an issue either way, just threw me off a bit. And Thank you again!
