Updated 10/08/2024 | Published 09/29/2024

Question:

Im looking for a tow n stow hitch with the length of the BH20. I have trick steps on my bass boat and the BH20 I had on my F150 worked fine, however, I just bought a 2024 F250 and Im sure Ill need a tow n stow type hitch with that same length? Is that possible? 10000 lb rated. Please advise

Hey Charles,

The Brophy # BH20 has a 13-1/4" from center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole, which is a bit more than the B&W Tow & Stow ballmounts have so the closest option is going to be the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount # BWTS10033B. It has a 9-1/4" distance from the center of the first hitch pin hole and 10-3/8" to the center of the rear hitch pin hole. With the 2-5/16" hitch ball your rated for 10k and you'll have a maximum drop of 3"/maximum rise of 3-1/2".

This is for a 2" trailer hitch receiver though so if your F-250 has a 2-1/2" receiver tube opening you'll want part # BWTS20048B instead. For a 3" receiver tube you'll need part # BWTS30037B.

Follow up. I spoke to you about the BH20 I have now. I F250 has a 2.5 receiver tube, and I have a two inch ball. You suggested the BWTS20048B. Will that have the 2 ball I need for my boat trailer? And my existing BH20 is the 13 1/4 from hitch pin hole to Center of Ball. What will be the max I will get with your suggestion? I will order as soon as I can verify what I think you were telling me in the previous emal. I need all the distance I can get due to the boat trailer steps installed. Thanks,

@Charles The B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS20048B is a 3-ball design with a 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" hitch ball so you would be able to pull pretty much any trailer. If you measure from the center of the hitch ball to the center of the first hitch pin hole in the shank you'd get a 9-1/4" distance. If you go to the second hitch pin hole you would have a 10-3/8" distance. This is shorter than the 13-1/4" distance the # BH20 has, but is the longest option B&W currently offers matching the rest of your criteria.
