Question:
I am contemplating buying a 2022 Honda CRV. It only has a tongue weight of 150 pounds. If I get a 2 inch hitch with a higher weight rating how much weight am I able to put safely on a cargo carrier that would slide into that receiver? I would like to be able to put up to between 200 and 350 pounds ona carrier that weighs about 60 pounds for short distances . Please advise Thank you Jim

Hello Jim; you're always limited by the lowest rated component. If the max tongue weight of the 2022 Honda CR-V is 150 lbs you can't carry more despite the 525 lb capacity of a hitch like # e98848. With a 60 lb carrier you're going to be limited to 90 lbs. If you end up getting the vehicle you will need to use a small trailer instead or use a roof box like the # TH615 to carry the additional cargo beyond the tongue weight capacity of vehicle.
