Which Suspension Enhancement For 2009 Chevy Express 3500 With Lift

Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 08/30/2024

Question:

I have a 2009 Chevy Express 3500 with a 3.5 front lift and 1.5 rear lift. Im looking to add one of these 3 items but not 100 sure yet what will work since i have a small lift in the rear. Im looking for something that will help when hauling heavy loads and towing my trailer. Im looking at these items: Part Number: TGMRG35 heard these could make for stiff ride when not towing or hauling heavy loads Part Number: SSA13 Part Number: AL88205 Thanks in advance - Ed

Hey Ed,

We can get your 2009 Chevy Express 3500 set up with suspension enhancement, and of these three options, the best for your lifted van is the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SSA13.

The Timbrens # TGMRG35 will indeed make your ride rougher like you mentioned and while the Air Lift # AL88205 are a good product, they require a lot of maintenance and won't be a great fit due to the lift on your van. The SuperSprings will offer a lot of help for your rear suspension without that maintenance and without a rougher ride, which is why I like them the most out of the three.

They'll help your Chevy stay level as you're towing, and also minimize body roll to prevent back-and-forth sway. I did want to mention a note regarding the fit of the # SSA13, which is that they are for Cutaway models only.

Hey Ed, how did things turn out with the SuperSprings on your Chevy Express 3500? Did they give you the support you needed when towing and hauling heavier loads? Your update could make it easier for others working with a lifted van setup.

@RobinH They worked well - i need to get back under there and give them a bit more tension prior to our next trip.
