Replacement Converter Section for Parallax 7355

Updated 09/03/2024 | Published 08/28/2024

Question:

2007 Jazz by Thor 5th wheel purchased last year via a broker. The electrical system has been a problem with an after market 120v system installed to power just the plugs off the batteries. This was partly done by taking a cutting wheel to the buss bar and isolateling the last breaker pair. That was sort of by passed but now the 7355 converter has gone bad and I now have a scorch mark on the negative connection to the fuse board. Im ordering a 4655 as a replacement. Does it come with the fues board and 120v buss bar or do I have to order those and the breakers separately?

Hi Randy; the Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section for AC/DC Power Distribution Panel # PD4635V doesn't have a bus bar or breakers so they would have to be acquired separately. However, based on what you have described the best option would be to go ahead and replace the entire power center with the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series RV Converter # PD4060K.

Hi Robin. Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it's several days too late as I already purchased and installed the 4655 v and just left the old cut buss bar in place, which is not optimal because a prior RV tech who discover the issue doubled up the AC and GFI circuits onto the remaining breakers, which is against parallax's instructions. Is there a way to buy just the buss bar and the breakers?

@RandyC sorry about that, we ended up behind from the holiday weekend. The breakers you can get at any hardware store, they're your standard breakers and not something that we carry. As far as the bus bar goes, I would reach out to Parallax to see if that is something that can be replaced.
