Winch Wiring it for 13,500 lb Winch to Rear of Vehicle

Question:
I have a Rugcell 13,500 Winch. Want to add a quick connection near the trailer hitch on the back of my truck and run it 16foot to the front to hook up to my battery. I have a 175a battery 1g quick connect kit with a max voltage of 600v. I am seeing mixed opinions between 1awg or 2 awg. Would it matter if I use 1g to be safe?

Hey Jon, since the current wiring of the winch is 1 gauge that would be what I would recommend going with which we have a kit that has this wiring in a 24 foot length with the part # BDW20348.
