Flashing Light With Redarc Liberty Brake Controller

Question:

Im getting a flashing Red light when my trailer lights are hooked up. I just plugged the lights in to see if the controller was go. I didnt haver the ball of the truck connected to the trailer. Would this make a difference? All the lights worked, brakes, running, turn on the trailer when pulled in.

We hooked it up and there was a blue light. When I pressed on the brakes the unto started flashing red. All the lights on trailer worked but the controller was flashing red. I didn't have the ball hooked up to the trailer, would this cause a grounding issue? Or do I just not have a good enough ground for the controller?

@Tim Ok gotcha, and having a ball hooked up won't matter no. The Liberty # RED24FR flashing red like that is 100% an issue with the controller not having a good ground. It could also be the ground wire is somehow damaged so I also recommend checking the actual ground wire if you installed the 7-way yourself.

@KyleS I didn’t install the 7-way, it was already installed previously. I thought ground issue and will check grounds.
