Troubleshooting Curt 13609 Not Fitting 2021 Kia Sorento

Question:

I order curt part 13609, but it didn’t fit on my Kia 2021 sorento. There is .5 inch gap check out the picture

Hi Jonathan; the # C37RV probably flexed a bit when it was shipped which is why you have that gap. All you need to do is flex it back into position and it will install as intended. I have attached a help article below outlining several methods you can use to accomplish this.

You kidding me!!! Welding like this and flex, what an excuse, to me your welder didn’t do a good job.

@JonathanN the mounting brackets need to be able to flex with the vehicle frame as the vehicle travels over the road and hits bumps or potholes. The hitch also needs to be able to withstand changes in temperature without being damaged. That being said, this also means it can be flexed when the shipping companies are launching it into a trailer because they care about time and not about the boxes they're flinging into a pile to get the truck out and on the road.
