Question:

I have a 2024 Toyota 4Runner SR5 with a factory installed hitch. I have also installed the Redarc brake controller. Is this ball mount a good option for towing a smaller rv? Thanks

Hi David; more than likely the answer is yes. The Curt # C99NR will be able to handle a small RV and has a 4-1/2" max rise and 5-1/2" max drop. However, it would be a good idea to measure and make sure the rise/drop will work well for the trailer.

You can use the formula Hitch Height (A) - Coupler Height (B) = Rise/Drop (C). I have included a link below which explains exactly how to measure to find the rise/drop you need. If it falls between the max rise/drop of the ball mount then you're good to go. I also recommend adding a lock set like the # C23556 to keep it secure.

Hey David, did you get a chance to measure the rise and drop for your 4Runner and trailer setup? Once you checked those numbers, did the Curt ball mount end up being the right fit for towing your RV? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar tow rig.
