Question:
I’m looking for a brake coupler to replace my Atwood 85736 on 2003 Ebbtide tandem trailer. It has three linear holes with 3” spacing close to bottom edge of coupler. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out, John!
I recommend using the 7K Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR as a replacement for your Atwood 85736 because of the EZ-Latch system on this coupler that makes it easier to use. The linear bolt holes on this are 3" apart on center and then there is a 3rd bolt hole in between them that you'll need to drill for. Unfortunately, drilling new holes for a replacement actuator is a pretty common thing.

Hey John, how did the swap to the Demco brake actuator go on your Ebbtide trailer? Did the bolt pattern and drilling work out the way you expected? Your update could make it easier for the next person replacing an Atwood coupler.
